"The goal is not to live forever. The goal is to
create something that lives forever in the hearts of those it touches."
-Bill Fountain
“With 37 company members
working for next to nothing, Level Ground Arts may be the most ambitious,
minimally funded and strangest (in a good way) acting company in town at the
moment.”
- Elaine Liner, Dallas Observer
"it looks like Level Ground Arts is plotting something. If it's a takeover of the DFW theater scene, then we surrender." - Mark Lowry, Theater Jones
The Birth of the Level Ground Arts Troupe!
Level Ground Arts is a dedicated Dallas based troupe of talented performers who strive to create engaging, interesting and compelling theatrical experiences.
Our mission is to bring creative projects to an audience: both bold new works and amazing classics seen through fresh, new eyes. Our goal is to establish a theatre that transcends boundaries and opens up opportunities for exploration and discovery. We approach all of our projects with an open mind, a dedicated spirit and a clear vision and process. It’s our hope and ambition to stir the hearts and minds of our audiences into taking this artistic journey with us. We feel it’s a journey worth taking; as artists, as actors, as people, as a community.
The “core” ensemble consists of a group of 37 performers from many varied and diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Sponsorship and financial support of our troop is essential to our continued growth and success. Currently one hundred percent of our operating budget comes from our pockets and our audiences. In our efforts to blossom into a full fledge traveling theatrical troop we are currently seeking donors and patrons who have an interest in supporting our vision and being a crucial part of this exciting new endeavor.

Most Appropriate Frequently
Asked Questions
(There are a few I refuse to answer!)
1. So are you an artist, writer,
director, actor or teacher?
Yes. All of the above. I go where the little voice in my heart tells me to go.
Sometimes it's theater. Sometimes it's print. Sometimes it's film. I try not to
limit my choices.
2. What is your musical taste?
My musical tastes are all over the board. Japanese pop, Indian Hum Tum, Tango,
etc. My favorite bands/performers, in no certain order: Cracker, Del Castillo,
Los Amigos Invisibles, Steve Ray Vaughan, Falco, The Beatles, Gorillaz, Styx,
Poe, Los Fabuloso Cadillacs, Matthew Sweet, Robbie Williams, Bob Skyles and the
Skyrockets, and of course, Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys!
3. Do you believe in Bigfoot?
I get this question quite a bit, believe it or not. Not only do I believe in
Bigfoot, I think I went to high school with him.
4. Is it true that you never sleep?
Really it's only partially true. I do sleep but
with one eye open.
5. What is your favorite food?
I love Ethiopian food most of all. Other than seafood, that's my all time
favorite. I like things that swim.
6. How many times were you on the Mr.
Peppermint Show growing up?
At least five times. Then the Good Times Gang once.
7. Is it true you were born a "Grove Rat?"
I'm very proud of that fact! I've never denied it!
Born and raised in Pleasant Grove!
8. Is it true you are so mean that you
once shot a man for snoring?
That never happened. Okay maybe once or twice. But the gun had blanks. Okay,
they weren't blanks. . .
9. Favorite place to travel on Planet
Earth?
It used to be Mexico but I think Lake Tahoe is the one spot that takes my breath
away.
10. What is the most frequently asked
