CRUSHING
GRAIN The NEW play by Bill Fountain
Welcome the new patient to the psychiatric ward of a decaying
hospital in the Soviet Union. . . Is he a spy? Is he mad? Is he a victim? Is he
all of the above? In less than five years, he will make history: one way or
another. . . An engaging and thought provoking dark journey into the turbulent
life of a so-called "lone gunman."
"Crushing Grain" explores a series of pivotal moments in the life of a man
history calls the assassin told in the context of his ill fated attempt to
defect to the Soviet Union. But in the twisted maze of logic, madness and
contradictions, what is the truth? Is our hero the man who kills a king? Is he
someone else altogether and what has all of this to do with how they make bread?
As we follow Hidell through the broken mirrors of a wonderland gone bad, we
discover there is a great deal more going on than meets the eye.
Playwright and Director, Bill Fountain, will return to the stage with the help
of Assistant Director Diana Gonzales, to bring his latest original work to life.
The cast also includes Nick Jones, Ken Long, Jordan Pokladnik, Krishna Smith,
Stephanie Felton, Robert G. Shores, Melody Jones and Daylon Walton.
