a new theater company from artistic partners
Jamie Baker and Bill Fountain

First up: Two late night performances of the original play "HECATE HILL" (written by Bill Fountain) at the Pocket Sandwich Theater in Dallas on October 27th and 28th!

Next up: A very unique and interesting late night show in the Spring of 2007!

What's next, you asked? Quite a bit. . . stay tuned!

CTT is founded by Artistic Partners Jamie Baker and Bill Fountain. Baker and Fountain met in college and have known each other for over 23 years. Out of touch for many years, their renewed interest in working together sprang forth from Bill Fountain’s recent return to the Dallas theater community as an actor, director and playwright. Jamie Baker has produced and directed numerous works in the Dallas area over the last 20 years. Formerly the Executive Director for Contemporary Theater of Dallas, Baker is very excited to once again be producing fresh and vibrant new works.

CTT kicks off it’s inaugural season with a great scare just in time for Halloween.  Hecate Hill, brings us a fresh twist on the Bigfoot story. With a recent rash of Bigfoot sightings is life imitating art? In the dark woods of Oklahoma, a few friends fight to survive the night. Are they real? Is this really happening? Welcome back to the bottom of the food chain.

In 2007, CTT will produce three full productions, including more late Night Performances at the Pocket Sandwich Theater.  Also on tap is a new adaptation of an award winning novel.  In the fall, look for “Carnival of Souls: Purgatorium” – Fountain’s brave look at life, death and Purgatory in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

OUR MISSION: Cautionary Tale Theater endeavors to bring to life stories that should and must be told. By doing this, we aim to give the gift of joy through the shared experience of artist and audience that only live theater can provide. Our aim is to bring a new perspective to the audience; to dedicate our abilities to open new windows of opportunities for audiences, talent, and the communities we touch. Our goal is the creative journey; a progression, an artistic struggle.

We encourage our audience to experience the diversity of the world. We want to spark debate, provide education and conversation from a job well done and support local artists in pursuit of their craft. Our mission is to create a haven where art meets artist meets audience and a place to celebrate the dialogue that results from it.
